Faithful to a Fault

Have you ever heard the saying "faithful to a fault"? I think I now understand the phrase better. Sometimes we hold on to relationships that are just not good for us or to us.
A number of things play into this:
1. Pride- often we choose who we want to be in a relationship with. When we see it failing. We don't want to admit that we made the wrong choice.
2. Comfort- bottom line; we get lazy. We don't want to take the effort to find new friends or mates. It's plain easier to tune out the bad and turn up the good.
3. Faithful- although a foreign term as of late. Faithfulness is demonstrated in other ways besides emotional and physical affairs. Faithfulness is the act of putting someone else's needs and desires before yours to avoid causing them pain. Being faithful is admirable. However, when it becomes a chore rather than a non harmful sacrifice, we put our happiness and our loved ones happiness in jeopardy.
In the future, make sure you are not being faithful to a fault. Your needs, as well as the person you have a relationship with, needs, have to be met.
